Well my friends, it has officially been over a month since I have been back in America. Actually…just last year I was at a training camp preparing to leave the country. WOW. It’s crazy where God takes us.

So it’s been a year since training camp and a month since I’ve arrived home. What has it been like in America? What have I been up to?

I’m not going to lie. America was pretty weird at first. It was awesome to finally see all my friends and family. I also was grieving the loss of the community I did life with for the last 9 months. I wasn’t used to everyone speaking English. The stores all seemed massive and overstocked. The foods I thought I missed weren’t appetizing and I really only craved rice.

I only had 2 weeks at home until I headed off to Georgia for a summer-long discipleship school. It was a hard to get only a taste of home and then make my way to the south. But here I am; learning countless things at Center for Global Action. And I am so glad I made that decision!

So..what’s it like.?

We have an intimate class size of about 10 students from the ages 18-26, plus a handful of amazing leaders. We meet together in the mornings until the afternoon 5 days a week.

On Monday mornings all staff gets together and starts the day/week with community worship. Throughout the week our class has intensive studies (both book and bible), discussions, hands on activities as well as worship and prayer. On Friday mornings we have small-groups get together to get support, debrief our week, and just do life together.

In the few weeks we’ve been here we have gone over “servant leadership”, “humility”, “public speaking”, and now we’re currently starting to go over “vulnerability” as well as a group study on Nehemiah. It’s very intensive but I love it and I’ve been getting so much out of it! Basically we discuss a topic, learn about it, read about it and then put it into action. And then discuss it some more.

Fun Facts: I live in a house with about 8 adults and 2.5 kids (and sometimes we have guests!). I just got a job down the road making sandwiches as subway. I don’t have my own car but carpooling is great. We currently get to serve at a training camp and it’s so exciting!

It’s been amazing to see how God provides with everything. Food, transportation, jobs, relationships, fundraising, etc. I’ve been learning a lot about His character and how we can continually trust that He has everything in His hands. It’s only been a month and I have so many stories and new revelations to share!

Friends and family, please feel free to get in contact, I’d love to catch up with you all!

PRAYER REQUESTS:

-So far I have raised 20% of my fundraising goal!  I humbly ask that you please support me through prayer and donations.

-To continually learn grow in wisdom and faith.

-For all of the CGA members as we learn, work and grow together.
